Jacinda Hill Set and Costume Designer and Maker

Biography

 

 

Jacinda's love for films and live performances evoked her passion for set and costume design, inspired by the way they assist in defining characters and creating environments within the art of storytelling.

 

Now a Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) graduate, Jacinda was fortunate enough to showcase her own set and costume designs in the 2017 VCA productions Mongrel and re:moving. From her role as costume maker on the 2016 VCA production of Spring Awakening and PLOS Musical Productions' 2017 hit, Wicked, Jacinda discovered an immense passion for costume making, encouraging her to expand on these skills with the hopes of achieving a high level of proficiency in costume construction. Due to her love for costume, Jacinda toured Australia in 2017 interning with the wardrobe department of the Ariana Grande: Dangerous Woman tour. Jacinda also discovered a love for prop making, specifically sculpting, which was further heightened after completely an internship with Melbourne model maker, Nick Pledge. 

Jacinda's role as Costume Designer for the 2019 production oLegally Blonde The Musical (James Terry Collective) earned her a Green Room Award Nomination for Costume Design in Musical Theatre. Jacinda’s most recent design credits also include costumes for Masquerade (Dreamhouse Theatre Company) and Into Narnia (Dromana Secondary College) and Extinction (Tierney Productions).
